Alumnus Dr. Daniel Sternlicht honored with NDIA Bronze Medal
Dr. Daniel Sternlicht has been selected for the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Bronze Medal. Dr. Sternlicht graduated with the MS degree from our Electrical Engineering program in 1992, and has gone on to achieve a remarkable career in littoral research, and is currently the distinguished scientist for littoral sensing technologies at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division.
Dr. Sternlicht said "The UH Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering was where I gained an academic foundation in engineering (completing both the undergraduate and graduate curriculum), which I applied to a thesis in undersea sensing, and to development of a family of technologies that I work on to this day. The teaching faculty was outstanding, and I could mention the names of many; however, I am particularly indebted to my thesis-chair, Professor Tep Dobry, who encouraged and mentored me through a topic that became my professional passion."
