Dissertation: Motion Estimation in3-D Gabor Domain - Based on a 3D Gabor representation of image sequences, this research establishes a set of novel methods to distinguish, recognize and track the signatures of various motions of different objects embodied in image sequences. Powerful algorithms are constructed with high resolution, low bias and high noise resistance by making full use of the spatiotemporal/spatiotemporal-frequency characteristics of the 3D Gabor domain. There are broad applications of this work in computer vision, pattern recognition, and video signal processing.
