Summary
In this presentation we have introduced the Derivative of Gaussian Transform (DGT).
- The DGT has been inspired by cortical simple cell receptive field profiles.
- This is a non-orthogonal, 2D, local transform.
- We have presented an efficient technique for calculation of the decomposition
and reconstruction.
This transform is proving to be a promising approach for image coding and
holds promise in many other image processing applications.
