EE x96 Final Presentations
Thursday and Friday, 8 and 9 May 2008,
Donald Kim Lab, POST 214
The purpose of the final presentation is to describe the final
status of your project. This is your chance to show off what
you have done this semester and demo you project.
The talk should include most of the following:
- Introduction of the team and VERY BRIEF overview of the project
- Description of your overall design, including initial goals,
structure of your design and design decisions made.
- Final status of your project including interesting design
features you used.
- Problems you ran into and what you did about them,
including changes to your design.
- Any outstanding problems and suggestions for future improvements.
- A brief demo of your project.
(We will bring the mini-maze for micromouse teams).
As before,
the presentations will be held
in three sessions. The first session will be on Thursday, 8 May beginning
at 8:30 am and should be done by 11:30 am.
The second session will be on Friday, 9 May beginning
at 8:30 am and should be done by 11:30 am.
The third session will be on Friday, 9 May beginning
at 1:00 pm and should be done by 3:30 pm.
Please limit your presentation to 30 minutes INCLUDING time
for questions so we can finish on time.
The entire team is expected to be present for the entire session in which
they will present. Everyone is welcome to attend any or all other sessions if
desired. (I will provide lunch both days at around 11:30)
Each team should send me the powerpoint file for their presentation
TWO DAYS BEFORE YOUR PRESENTATION,
by Tuesday or Wednesday, 6 or 7 May. I will archive these and include a link
to the files in the schedule below.
In addition, each team should turn in a report for your project
this semester. Reports are due by the time of your
presentation session
but no later than 4:30 pm on Friday, 9 May. The requirements
for your report are based on the level of x96 you are doing this
semester as described
here.
(You MAY "upgrade" the level of your report if desired).
For those projects/teams who have discussed an Incomplete for the
x96 projects PRIOR to the final presentations, you may delay your
report until we complete the project (hopefully over the summer, but
no later than 1 Nov 08), but you will still present in your session
below.
For EE 396 and EE 496,
please turn in both a hard copy
which I will mark up and you can
pick up from me after the semester, as well as an electronic copy
for my own archives. I will not publish the elctronic copies on the
web, but may make them available to future x96 students.
For EE 296 reports, an electronic copy of your report is sufficient.
Please email the electronic copy to me by the deadline for reports.
IN ADDITION,
for each individual who is part of a team, I would like you to
evaluate your team and team members, including yourself in a confidential
email to me. Give your opinion of your contribution and
the contribution of each member of the
team to the overall project. This email is due by the day of your
presentation. EE 296 reports and the "what you learned" part of
EE 396 reports may be combined with this evaluation email.
One more thing...
For those Micromice who were not ready for the mini-competition,
you will have a chance to show what your mouse can do in the full
maze on Saturday, 10 May from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. We will hold
a second mini-competition at that time as a final demo of your mouse.
