Lab Policies
The preliminary schedule for the availability of the uMouse lab
in Holmes 408A (enter through Holmes 411)
this semester is posted below.
In addition to the uMouse Lab Rules,
the policies for use of the lab are:
- Teams have preference for space and equipement in the lab during their
scheduled times.
- Teams may use the lab at other times, if there is space available,
but those scheduled have priority.
- One of the lab monitors (Kevin, Quang, Tyson, Tom, Alex or John) should be
in the lab when it is open for Novice teams. Apprentice teams may
work in the lab on their own if they have access.
- If no teams are present in the lab during scheduled times,
the monitors do not have to stay to keep the lab open.
- The lab may be available at other, non-scheduled time, if
someone is in there working. When in doubt about whether the
lab is open, you can call the lab at 956-5860 or the IEEE room at
956-6250 to check.
- For those with the room combinations, do not share them with others.
I will approve codes on an individual basis as needed.
- DO NOT leave the outer door to H 411 ajar. If the outer door is
shut, Knock, or call one of the above numbers to get in.
- If you are the last to leave, make sure the H 408A door is shut
and locks, and verify the ourter, H 411 door is latched and locked.
- If you are the last to leave, also turn off the lights, but leave
the single, emergency light on in both rooms.
- Remember, the lab, parts cabinet, maze, tools, computers, power supplies,
Rabbit development boards and other equipement in the lab is
community property. TAKE CARE OF IT.
- The Shelves of Honor are NOT parts bins. Do
not take apart or scavenge anything from those shelves.
- The Lab monitors have the final authority in the lab; listen to what they
say. They are volunteering their time; be sure to thank them.
Violation of Lab Rules or Policies may result in loss of lab privilege.
