EE x96 Design Review Presentations

Monday, 13 Mar 2004
9:00 am and 12:30 pm
Donald Kim Lab, POST 214

The second presentation is the design review presentation. These presentations are more technical than the proposals. You are not expected to have a complete working design for this pesentation, but are expected to have begun the design process, considered some alternatives, and done preliminary tests of components and/or subsystems. Each team will present their design at its current state and be prepared to answer questions from the audience.

The purpose of a design review is to present your design so far and get feedback from others, bot thos familiar with the project, and those not familiar with what you are doing. The talk should include the following:

All presentations will last 15 minutes, with 10 minutes for questions and between talks. Because this is a design review, I will expect everyone to ask at least TWO questions sometime during your session.

As before, the presentations will be held in two sessions. The first session will begin at 9 am and should be done by noon. The second session will begin at 12:30 and should be done by 3:30 (NOTE: the sessions are a little longer to allow for all the questions). I will assign the session and order with sessions for these presentations to change the mix of projects each team gets to see. Roughly half of you will be placed in the "other" session than what you did during the proposals. If your team has strong preference for either session you can let me know in email by Friday, 5 Mar, and I will take that in to account (but these are only prefereces; I may or may not abide by them). The entire team is expected to be present for the entire session in which they will present. Everyone is welcome to attend both sessions if desired.

Each team should send me the powerpoint file for their presentation by the time of their talk. I will archive these and include a link to the files in the schedule below.
