- We will talk about what you found at Career Day.
- We will also break up into teams to investigate how engineers
can address sustainability on campus.

- None. Work with your teams on your sustainability ideas.
We will take this project through the first four steps of the
design process.
You will present your ideas in your teams
as a design review after Spring Break.
- NOTE: we will not meet next week (Spring Break).
Our next meeting will be on 2 Apr.
when your teams will present their sustainability ideas in a preliminary
design review.

- Chapter 2: problem 11.
- Go to Career Day this Friday (16 Mar, from 1-4 pm) and talk to the
representatives of at least 2 companies that look interesting to you.
Find out what their company does, what kind of engineering jobs they
offer, and what their engineers do. Write up what you found out
in your email journal this week, and we will talk about them next week.
- I would also like to schedule a brief meeting with each of you next week
to see how you are doing this semester. I will have a signup sheet
in class.
Week 6 (5 Mar 07)

- The Engineering Design Process
- We will talk about the Engineering design process in class and
discuss a project for the semester.
- I will be showing a video next week in class which runs about an
hour, and we will discuss it afterwards. So please try to arrive on time
next week and plan to run a little longer than usual.

Week 4 (12 Feb 07)

- Everyone will report back about their experiences with Chaplter 1 problem 14

- Chapter 3: problems 13, 14, 15 and 16.
- For Problems 13 and 14, we will divide up into teams during
this session and pick centers
for each team to investigate. Each team will prepare a short
ppt presentation on what they found out at the week 5 meeting.
- Chapter 3 problem 16 is a two week assignment. Begin practicing
some of these techniques now (week 4) and we will discuss them
and your paper (one page is enough) at our meeting in week 6.

- For the problem 14 you did this week,
we will discuss them in class, and have you
try to implement 2 of these for the next 2 weeks.
We will discuss what you did to "study smart" and how you found
these things to work in class in 2 weeks.
