- Section 001: Our regular weekly meetings will be on Tuesdays from
3:30 to 4:30 pm in Holmes 389 beginning on 17 Jan.
- Section 001: We will have an organization meeting on Wednesday, 11 Jan
at 4:30 pm in POST 214 to determine the best time for regular weekly
meetings for the rest of the semester.

- Raytheon visitors
- Some of our alumni from Raytheon will visit to talk about
their engineering careers and answer any questions you have.
So come with questions.
- If there is time, we will talk about what you found at Career Day.

- Assignment
- None. Work with your teams on your inventions. You will
present the preliminary design as a design review after Spring Break.
- NOTE: we will not meet next week (Spring Break)
or the week after (Science Fair). Our next meeting will be on 11 Apr.
when your teams will present their inventions for a preliminary
design review.

- Using The Engineering Design Process
- We will REALLY talk about problems 6 and 7 in Chapter 2 in class
today, so bring your books.
- For those who didn't meet with me this past week, I would still like
to schedule a brief meeting to see how you are doing this semester.

- Go to Career Day this Friday (17 Mar, from 1-4 pm) and talk to the
representatives of at least 2 companies that look interesting to you.
Find out what their company does, what kind of engineering jobs they
offer, and what their engineers do. Write up what you found out
in your email journal this week, and if we have itme, we will talk
about them next week.

- We will talk about problems 6 and 7 in Chapter 2 in class.
- I would also like to schedule a brief meeting with each of you
to see how you are doing this semester. I will have a signup sheet
in class.

arrive on time. We will discuss the video afterward, so
that meeting will be one of our longer sessions, till about 5:00.

Week 4 (7 Feb 06)

- Studying Smart
- Everyone will report back about their experiences with Chaplter 1 problem 14
- Readings

- Chapter 3: problems 4, 5, and 15.
- For Problems 13 and 14, we will divide up into teams during
this session and pick centers
for each team to investigate. Each team will prepare a short
ppt presentation on what they found out at the week 5 meeting.
- Chapter 3 problem 16 is a two week assignment. Begin practicing
some of these techniques now (week 4) and we will discuss them
and your paper (one page is enough) at our meeting in week 6.

- For the problem 14 you did this week,
we will discuss them in class, and have you
try to implement 2 of these for the next 2 weeks.
We will discuss what you did to "study smart" and how you found
these things to work in class in 2 weeks.
