Meetings

• Section 001: We will have an organization meeting on Wednesday, 15 Jan at 2:30 pm on POST 214 to determine the best time for regular weekly meetings for the rest of the semester.
• By concensus, our regular meetings will be on Fridays from 12:30 to 1:20 in POST 214 for the rest of the semester.

  • Remember, we wil have no class next week while I am away at the MicroMouse competition. However, I would liek to collect your journals for the last time next week. Please bring them by my office in Holmes 250 by Wednesday, 30 Apr. I will return them at our last meeting.
  • Also remember, we WILL meet for out last session on Friday, 9 May from noon to 2:00 in POST 214.

Week 10 (21 Mar 03)

Week 9 (14 Mar 03)

  • Instead of Chapter 2: problem 18 this semester, I'd like to open up the possibilities for doing a small research project. In teams we will pick in class today, pick one of the items listed at the web site How Stuff Works and prepare a brief (15 minute) oral presentation for the class. You will present your findings in class after Spring Break.

Week 7 (28 Feb 03)

• Study Skills discussion

  • I will collect your journals today and return them to you next week.
  • Chapter 2: problems 6 and 7. We will pick teams of 2 or 3 today in class and you will do these problems as a team. Be prepared to present your product in class next week.

Week 6 (21 Feb 03)

  • Don't forget, you are still working on Chapter 3: problem 16 for next week. We will discuss your papers then.

Week 5 (14 Feb 03)

  • Chapter 3: problem 16. This is another long term (2 week) problem. Begin it this week and we will discuss your papers in 2 weeks.

• Next week I will show a video. Please try to show up a little early, since the video runs about an hour.

• Getting a good start
• NOTE: We will not meet next Friday due to Engineering Expo (you might consider volunteering to help with Expo; we can discuss this in class today).

  • Chapter 1: problems 14, 15 and 16. For problem 14, write your list in your journal and try to implement 2 of these for the next 2 weeks. We will discuss what you did to "study smart" and how you found these things to work in class in 2 weeks.
