Assignment: By simulation determine the mean delay of packets in an infinite node stabilized ALOHA system (pseudo-Bayesian algorithm, see Section 4.2.3 of the textbook, and in particular update (4.7) on page 283). Delay is measured from the time the packet arrives, as part of Poisson arrival process, until it is completely transmitted (in some slot). Measure the average delay for arrival rates:
What To Turn In: Turn in your average delay values for packets for the different arrival rates. This delay is the length of time between arrival and complete transmission of a packet (thus, it's average waiting time plus 1). Email the values to me at sasaki@spectra.eng.hawaii.edu. Hint: you can measure the average backlog and then use Little's Theorem.
