JANE (2002)

Justin Loy, the namer of Junior Boy, is also responsible for the name of this mouse. No, JANE is not the name of Justin's girlfriend. It's actually an acronym...but since it has R to X-rated content, it will not be printed here. Right now, we're calling JANE our working name, but if Junior Boy is any indicator, this name will probably stick.

JANE the mouse

JANE is actually built around the chassis of Tin Man, a Micromouse from last year that did not make it to competition. Since Byron Wolfe worked so hard on making the chassis so nice, we decided to re-use it.

Byron's beautiful handiwork

JANE's sensor board, however, is all-new, and made with UH pride by Mike Tamamoto and me (Aaron Ohta). Hopefully our sensor configuration works well; rebuilding it would definitely suck.

We support UH athletics!

JANE's tracking code is the result of hard work by Justin (our software guru) and Byron (our software guru-in-training). Justin is also hard at work at a brand-new solving algorithm. We have total confidence that it will work better than Junior Boy's "advanced" solving algorithm.

Jane is ready to run. Using test functions, JANE runs pretty smoothly. However, we are currently having sensor problems.
