Congratulations to Nicholas Yama, who is being recognized as the Spring 2020 Outstanding Graduating Senior in Electrical Engineering. Nick has an extensive undergraduate research record, with two summers at Columbia University and City College of New York, in addition to his research pursuits and minor degree in Physics at UH Manoa. He also served as an EE 160 teaching assistant multiple semesters.  Nick will be pursuing his PhD at the University of Washington.

NSF provides a stipend of $34,000 to the Fellow and a cost-of-education allowance of $12,000 to the graduate degree-granting institution for each Fellow who uses the fellowship support in a fellowship year.Nick’s achievement is a four-peat, following George Zhang, Pooja Nuti, and Sasha Yamada who received the same fellowship in 2017, 2018, and 2019 respectively.
